Campaign for Real Ale

September 2017

Friday 1 September 2017

Beehive, Aldershot
Planning permission to convert the pub into flats has been approved and work on the conversion has already commenced.

Popworld, Aldershot
No real ale. Closed at the end of August and has already vanished from the Popworld website, so little chance of it re-opening under the old ownership of Stonegate.

Villagers, Blackheath
A planning application has been submitted to develop the Villagers, Blackheath as a public house with two dwellings, which is being driven by the local community to try to bring forward a viable scheme to reopen the pub. A project we hope is successful.

Villagers, Chiddingfold
A planning application to convert the pub/club into a children’s gym has been approved by Waverley Borough Council.

Red Lion, Chobham
Identified as a pub for sale following the Heineken takeover of Punch.

Anchor, Knaphill
The Asset of Community Value award approved by Woking Borough Council in July is now being reviewed following an objection from a potential developer.

Duke Of Normandy, Normandy
A planning application has been submitted to demolish the pub, which has been closed for a number of years, and erect 3 houses on the site. There are no other potential community facilities in the village so CAMRA will be objecting.

Birch & Pines, Sheerwater
A planning application has been submitted demolish this pub which closed in April. This is part of a major housing and retail development on this are of Woking and it is anticipated that a replacement pub or similar facilities will be provided as part of the new development.

Rat & Parrot, Woking
A planning application has also been submitted to demolish the pub and build flats. The pub has been closed for many years and is in a poor state of repair.
