In a prominent location of the A320 this twentieth century road house closed in early 2018, reopening in late October 2018, primarily as a dim sum restaurant.

The pub did not reopened after Covid and in March 2023 a planning application was submitted to convert the pub to an office and 6 dwellings. As of March 2024 it had not been determined by the local planning authority.
