Join Terry Hartshorn as he takes us for a walk along the Thames path from Waterloo to Greenwich, visiting pubs on route.
We'll meet Terry Hartshorn under the clock at Waterloo Station for a prompt 11am start. The first planned visit is to The Mayflower, Rotherhithe: https://whatpub.com/pubs/SEL/10711/mayflower-rotherhithe, which is an approximate 3.5 mile walk along the Thames Path arriving around 12.15pm. However, if you wish to travel by public transport, take the Jubilee Line to Canada Water from where it is a 0.5 mile walk - please note that the pub opens at 12pm.
If anyone would like to have lunch at the pub (food is recommended by Terry), then please let Terry know and he will reserve an inside table. There is also a covered external area over the river which is always available for walk-ins.
After lunch the next visit will be to The Dog & Bell, Deptford: https://whatpub.com/pubs/SEL/10902/dog-bell-deptford, which is a further 3 mile walk along the river. Or you can catch the 47 or 188 bus from Southwark Park to Sayes Court with a short walk at either end.
Return to Waterloo will be via the Thames (Uber) Clipper from Greenwich Pier, which is a 1 mile walk from the pub traveling to the London Eye, with an option to visit The The Kings Arms, Roupell St: https://whatpub.com/pubs/SEL/10553/kings-arms-london prior to traveling home.
For the Thames Clipper it is easier to book a ticket in advance online, although you can tap in or use the ticket machine at the pier. If you have a bus pass you can get a 50% concession ticket.
Apart from the start time the day will be flexible so adjustments can be made according to the beers available.

Tickets for 46th Farnham Beerex are now on sale. They can be purchased here Note Saturday lunchtime tickets have sold out.
Session times for 2024 are confirmed, as in 2023 they will be 6.00pm - 11.00pm for the three evening sessions and 11.00am - 3.00pm for the Friday and Saturday lunchtime sessions.
Live music at each session, except Friday lunchtime, with tickets giving entry to Beerex, the entertainment and a souvenir programme. A commemorative glass is also available to purchase.
Farnham Maltings provide food at all sessions. The minimum age for entry is 18 years.

Hampshire Tasting Panel is holding a refresher event for trained tasters at the Prince of Wales, Farnborough.
However any Branch member who is interested in seeing how Tasting Panels work and who might be consider getting involved in the future are most welcome to come along.

Hogs Back Brewery Shop & Tap Room, Tongham
We are holding a party to celebrate our 50th Birthday.
We will be gathering from 4pm and being a birthday party there will be cake, which we plan on cutting at 6.30pm and then continue the celebrations into the evening. In addition, our friends at Hogs Back have agreed to brew a special beer to mark the occasion, which will be available on the night.
All current and past CAMRA members of the branch are welcome to come along and if anyone would like to join CAMRA on the day, we will buy them a free pint. Please email ku.gro.armac.bhs@pxtn to be added to the guest list
The number 20 bus will get you to Tongham, followed by a 15 min walk up the hill. If you need a transport from the bus stop, please let us know when you book, and we will co-ordinate groups for a taxi/lift up the hill as required.

Bluebell, Dockenfield
For our annual midsummer walk this year we will be visiting one of our most remote pubs the 6.30pm Bluebell, Dockenfield.
The walk will be 5.5 miles, with the pub is an hour's walk from Bentley Station, thought the attractive Alice Holt Forest.
We will depart Bentley following the arrival of 18.22 train and will return to Bentley in time for the 22.51 train back to Farnham, Aldershot & Woking. There will be plenty of time to have a meal at the pub, please let Kevin Travers Branch Contact know if to would like to dine by 16th June so he can book a table.
