In December 2023 a special award was made to Tony & Sheila Brooks of Four Horseshoes, Long Sutton in recognition of their support for real ale and the local community over many years. If you've not visited this quintessential English Village Pub, it is highly recommended, but be aware of the limited opening hours.

Branch Pub of the Year 2023

The Branch Pub of the Year is our most prestigious annual award, the Branch Pub of the Year Selection Process explains how branch members can take part in the procedure. The Club of the Year and Cider Pub of the Year awards are selected at a branch meeting in January or February. See the branch diary for the date of this meeting or contact the Branch Secretary.

The Branch Pub of the Year is Crown, Horsell. A presentation of their award took place at the Branch Summer Party in July.

Branch Club of the Year 2023

The Branch Club of the Year is Elstead British Legion Club. Branch Chairman, Mick Bell, presented their award as part of a Branch social in June 2023.

Branch Cider and Perry Pub of the Year 2023

The Branch Cider and Perry Pub of the Year, for the 10th consecutive year, is Star, Godalming. A presentation for both this years award and a celebration of of 10 years of success took place at the pub's Halloween Beer Festival in October. Star Godalming - Halloween Beer Festival.

10 consecutive years in the Good Beer Guide

In October 2022 a presentation was made by Branch Pubs Officer, Kevin Travers, to Stuart Merricks and Jessica Stuart of the Prince Arthur, Fleet to mark 10 consecutive years in the Good Beer Guide. The pub was the first pub in the Fleet area to reach this milestone having only opened in July 1998.

40 consecutive years in the Good Beer Guide

In October 2022 at the Prince of Wales' Annual Beer Festival we celebrated an incredible 40 consecutive entries in the Good Beer Guide, just before the pub's 41st appearance! Branch Chairman presented a special award to long time owner Peter Moore.

10 consecutive years in the Good Beer Guide

In February 2022 a presentation was made by Branch Vice Chairman, Dave Taylor, to the manager of King's Head, Guildford to mark 10 consecutive years in the Good Beer Guide. Located off the edge of the town centre, the King's Head is the only pub locally serving the full range of Fullers beers including seasonals, plus a selection of guest ales, so there is always plenty of choice available.

40 consecutive years in the Good Beer Guide

In January 2022 a Group of Branch members had an excellent Sunday lunch at the Bat & Ball, Boundstone. After our fill of good food and excellent beer, including Triple fff Moondance and Hop Back Summer Lightning, we presented an award for an amazing 40 years in the Good Beer Guide.

10 consecutive years in the Good Beer Guide

In December 2021 a presentation was made by Branch Chairman, Ian Johnson, to Antoinette Harvey, landlady at the Crown, Horsell to mark 10 consecutive years in the Good Beer Guide. John Mintram, owner of Thurstons Brewery, next door, also gets in on the act! His beers are always available on the bar and is one of the reasons that regular entry in the Good Beer Guide has been achieved for so long.
