A longstanding Grade II public house with parts of the building dating from the 1500s. It has been modernised and refurbished with extensive use of stripped pine, but still shows bare beams, so watch out for your head! Mainly food driven but the friendly staff can serve your beer order at the bar or bring your drinks to you. It is surprisingly light and airy inside with a feeling of the contemporary meeting the historic. Fresh and reasonably priced bar snacks are available with a fuller menu at the dining tables. There is a decked outside seating area and guest beers come from mainly local breweries.
