See more about this pub on WhatPub, CAMRA's national pub guide.
This is a marvellous free-house set in the quiet Hampshire countryside, near the local church. Originally a 17th Century coaching inn it has been owned by the same family for over 100 years, but retains much of the original slate flooring and wooden beams. Old photographs of Windlesham, and brewery memorabilia remind us how life used to be in those days! There are 2 bar areas, each with its own bar, and linked by a brick archway – both areas are also used for dining, but a separate dining room was added to the building a few years ago, and can also be booked for private functions. The pub is renowned not only for its 8 cask ales, but also for its extensive menu: one can also enjoy the large garden area in decent weather, furnished with numerous tables, and a children’s play area. Although bar service starts at noon, from Monday-Saturday breakfast is served from 9 till 1130 a.m.
