Queen Hotel1 High Street
See more about this pub on WhatPub, CAMRA's national pub guide.
A Grade II listed hotel, in the centre of the historic military town of Aldershot. It is a landmark building of historic importance dating back to the reign of Queen Victoria. After 18 months closure the Queen Hotel was reopened with a 1 million GBP refurbishment by Wetherspoon in April 2014. The trading area has been significantly expanded, giving a light and airy feel; slightly cafe bar in style, with a long single, marble bar down one side and the family area boasting exposed beams. The original rooms are more intimate and have been retained down small flights of stairs at the front of the building. Unusually for Wetherspoon, one room has a real fire and they both offer a view over attractive flowerbeds, towards Princes Hall. They also contain pictures of old Aldershot. Although not a Wetherlodge the pub also offers 7 well appointed bedrooms. Outside is an attractive patio, covered down one side, offering some shelter for smokers.
