Pub reopened in mid June 2019 following a short period of closure 2019 after the long serving landlord, Bruce Gosten, left.
A former Ind Coope pub, this remains is a very traditional community local. The two room was lost in a 2018 refurbishment as there is now a door connecting the small saloon and public bars, which are served from a single bar stretching between the two. On the High Street, near the railway station, the walls are adorned with a wide variety of railway photographs and associated memorabilia. The pub shows nearly all televised football matches and has a vibrant darts scene. Also a Crib team, and a pool table in the Lounge bar. A basic pub food menu is served at lunch times at very reasonable prices, with a roast on Sundays. Regular live music is performed.
