Probably the oldest building in Farnborough, being some 400-years old and reputably the venue of first recognised world heavyweight boxing contest, as well as being a regular stop over for Dick Turpin. Originally consisting of three separate bars, the pub has now been knocked into one, whilst still retaining different character in each area. There is a real fire in the right hand area and a piano in the middle.
Under new management since mid 2025, the pub now offers one ever changing real ale, which could be from any brewery. Food is available lunch times and evenings. During term time, Wed-Fri, the pub offers a "Student Meal Deal £5" for students with ID from the local 6th Form College. Chose from the £5 meal deal range and you may play pool for free.
Pool and two dart boards are on offer, with live sport on three different screens to enjoy the game from every area of the pub. Music nights happen - keep an eye on the advertising boards outside the pub.
There is a large car park, a regular bus service stops outside and the pub, and it is about 10 minutes walk from Frimley Railway Station.
