This is a cosy little pub dating back to the 16th century, and Grade II listed. The predominance of wood in the general décor of the interior gives it a warm feeling, all the more so on Winter days when the fires in the small lounge areas downstairs and upstairs may be going. The current lessee, Barry, came in July 2019, introduced Sports TV screens, and also renovated the Function Room, which now includes a bar. The small garden area is now receiving attention, in time for Spring 2020. Mindful of the regulars the preference is to keep London Pride, Courage Best, Proper Job, and Landlord as permanent ales, rather than rotate any with a Guest Ale - fair do’s! There’s a Charity Quiz Night on the last Wednesday of each month.
