After 9 years Jill & Sandy have been unable to renew their tenancy. The pub is currently closed but due to reopen on 9th October under new management. Information below here may therefore be out of date.
A traditional and very welcoming village local pub which after long periods of uncertainty has now entered a vibrant and optimistic period of ownership under enthusiastic local couple Jill and Sandy. The pub was listed as an Asset of Community Value in the Summer 2014 and a new lease with Punch Taverns is now in place. The pub has an open plan layout with a lounge/dining room and an adjoining snug/bar together with a separate function room in the back. All areas of the pub are served from a central, oval shaped wooden bar. Real fire and stove, with attractive friezes above the fireplaces in the dining room. Home-cooked food and traditional roast dinners available on Sunday lunchtimes, table booking on Sunday advised. There are a couple of seats outside the front of the pub, but the jewel in the crown is the very extensive private rear garden complete with wonderful views, with the added bonus of an 18 hole pitch and putt golf course and barbecue facility, perfect for relaxation in spring and summer. Quiz night the first Thursday of the month.
