The News and Ale Spring edition has now been published and is currently being distributed to the usual pubs and clubs (online link below).

In this edition you can read about the new National Beer Scoring System (NBSS). It is important for CAMRA members to score their beer as it gives an indication of the quality of beer served at the pub or club. Only those pubs or clubs with the highest scores will be put forward for entry into the Good Beer Guide. Surrey/Hants Borders branch of CAMRA has held a competition to encourage the entry of NBSS scores. This edition announces the winners of the 2025 competition, the competition will also be run in 2026 so please keep scoring your beer and you just might win a prize.

On a sad note, Thurstons brewery have announced that they have stopped brewing with the last brew produced in May 2026. This reflects the very difficult economic conditions the brewery and pub trade are encountering now. Please support your pub and/or club, without your support we could see many more breweries and pubs close.
